Alexandria Strawberry is a premium heirloom alpine strawberry variety prized for its small, bright red berries, intense sweet aroma, and exceptional flavor. Unlike many traditional strawberries, this everbearing variety produces delicious fruit continuously throughout the growing season without sending out runners, making it ideal for containers, raised beds, borders, and small gardens. The berries are perfect for fresh eating, desserts, jams, and garnishes. It performs exceptionally well during the UAE’s cool growing season.

When to Plant in the UAE

• Indoors: Start seeds indoors in early July.
• Outdoors: Transplant seedlings outdoors in early November.

Planting & Care Tips

• Light & Soil: Plant in full sun to partial shade in fertile, well-draining soil enriched with compost and organic matter.
• Depth & Germination: Sow seeds on the soil surface or lightly cover with no more than 2 mm of soil. Germination typically occurs within 14–28 days.
• Spacing: Space plants 25–30 cm apart, with 30–40 cm between rows.
• Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during flowering and fruit production.
• Feeding: Apply compost before planting and feed with a balanced fertilizer every 3–4 weeks. Increase potassium once flowering begins to encourage abundant fruit production.
• Harvest: Plants begin producing fruit approximately 120–150 days after sowing and continue producing throughout the cool season.
• Harvesting Tips: Pick berries as soon as they turn fully bright red for the sweetest flavor. Harvest regularly to encourage continued fruit production.
