Product Summary
Johnny Jump Up Viola (Viola tricolor) is a charming heirloom flower known for its cheerful, three-colored blooms in purple, yellow and white. Also known as Heartsease, it is a compact, cool-season flowering plant that produces masses of delicate flowers and works beautifully in garden beds, containers, borders and cottage gardens.
Description
Johnny Jump Up is one of the classic old-fashioned violas, producing small but striking flowers with a distinctive combination of purple, yellow and white markings. The blooms appear above compact plants with attractive green foliage, creating a colorful display during the cooler growing season.
This easy-growing annual or short-lived perennial is particularly well suited to containers, window boxes, borders, rock gardens and cottage-style planting. The flowers are also edible and can be used as a decorative garnish when grown without chemical treatments.
Johnny Jump Up prefers cool conditions and can flower generously when temperatures are mild. Regularly removing faded flowers encourages continued blooming.
