Description

Baby Boo Pumpkin is a charming heirloom miniature pumpkin that produces small, creamy white fruits measuring 7–10 cm across and weighing around 150–300 g. The vines are highly productive, yielding numerous ornamental pumpkins that are also edible. Their sweet, mild flesh makes them suitable for roasting, baking, soups, and seasonal decorations.

When to Plant in the UAE

  • Direct Sow: Sow seeds from October through January, when temperatures are warm but not excessively hot.
  • Transplanting: Pumpkin plants do not transplant well, so direct sowing is recommended.

Planting & Care Tips

  • Light & Soil: Plant in a location that receives 6–8 hours of full sun daily. Use fertile, well-draining soil enriched with compost.
  • Depth & Germination: Sow seeds 2–3 cm deep. Germination typically occurs within 5–10 days.
  • Spacing: Space plants 90–120 cm apart, with 180–240 cm between rows to allow room for the vigorous vines.
  • Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during flowering and fruit development, while avoiding waterlogged conditions.
  • Feeding: Apply compost before planting and feed with a balanced fertilizer every 3–4 weeks. Increase potassium once flowering begins to encourage fruit production.
  • Harvest: Fruits are ready to harvest in approximately 90–100 days when the skin is firm and creamy white, and the stem begins to dry.
  • Harvesting Tips: Cut pumpkins from the vine with a few centimeters of stem attached to improve storage life. Store harvested pumpkins in a cool, dry place.
