Description
Old German is a classic American heirloom and an excellent slicing tomato. Its large, unusual fruits have a golden-yellow exterior with striking red and pink streaks extending through the flesh, creating a beautiful marbled appearance.
The fruits are meaty, juicy and exceptionally sweet, with a rich traditional tomato flavor. Their large size and colorful interior make them particularly impressive when sliced for sandwiches, burgers and fresh salads.
The plants are indeterminate and vigorous, continuing to grow and produce tomatoes over an extended season. Because the fruits can become very large and heavy, sturdy staking, caging or trellising is strongly recommended.
