Description

Wild Rocket Arugula (Diplotaxis tenuifolia) is a perennial-style leafy green prized for its deeply lobed leaves and distinctive peppery, nutty flavor. Compared with common arugula, wild rocket has a stronger and more intense taste and produces smaller, narrow leaves that can be harvested repeatedly.

It is an excellent addition to salads, sandwiches, pizzas, pasta, pesto and fresh garnishes. The plants are productive and can continue producing new leaves when harvested regularly, making wild rocket an excellent choice for home gardens, raised beds and containers.

Planting & Care Tips

• Sow seeds very shallowly, about 0.3–0.5 cm deep, and lightly cover with soil.
• Germination usually takes around 7–14 days.
• Thin seedlings to approximately 15–20 cm apart.
• Grow in full sun to partial shade.
• Keep the soil consistently moist during germination and early growth.
• Harvest young leaves regularly for a milder, more tender flavor.
• Allow plants to mature for a stronger peppery taste.
• Remove flower stalks if you want to encourage continued leaf production.
• Harvest outer leaves first and allow the center to keep producing.
